According to BBC News, Helena Bonham Carter has been nominated for Best Actress for her role in Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd. Robert Pattinson has also been nominated for Best Newcomer for his role in Twilight. Two of the films nominated for Best British Film feature our favorite actors. The first is In Bruges which features Brendan Gleeson, Ralph Fiennes, and Clémence Poésy.The second is Son of Rambow which features Jessica Hynes (as Jessica Stevenson) and Eric Sykes.
The awards are voted for by readers of Empire Magazine and will be announced on March 29, 2009.
