Ciarán Hinds has joined the cast of the Walt Disney production of John Carter of Mars which has begun principal photography in London at Long Cross Film Studios. The film is based upon the first of Edgar Rice Burrough's Barsoom Series and chronicles the journey of Civil-War veteran John Carter who was mysterious transported to Mars and gets caught in the middle of a martian war. Hinds has taken a currently undisclosed part in the film. The film is currently scheduled to be released in 2012.
